5-Star OL Ismael Camara Announces Commitment Between Texas, Oregon, LSU, SMU
Texas has added a third five-star commit to its 2027 football recruiting class.
Five-star interior offensive lineman Ismael Camara committed to Texas on Saturday, he told On3's Hayes Fawcett.
Camara chose the Longhorns over his other final choices of Oregon, SMU and LSU, according to Fawcett.
Camara, listed at 6-foot-6 and 340 pounds, is listed as the No. 20 national prospect and third offensive tackle on 247Sports composite rankings.
247Sports scouting analyst Gabe Brooks named the Miami Dolphins' Kadyn Proctor as a professional comp for Camara.
Brooks reported Camara "plays both ways with valuable reps at multiple defensive spots, including three-point interior reps and two-point edge snaps."
He "projects to the high-major level as a potential multi-year starter with the physical gifts, natural athleticism, and competitive demeanor to become a coveted pro prospect," Brooks reported.
Originally from Le Mans, France, Camara moved to Texas ahead of his 2024 sophomore season and began playing varsity-level football for the first time in 2025.
Texas could hope another high school season will help Camara continue to adjust to American football before making his college debut in 2027.
Camara is joining cornerback John Meredith III and wide receiver Easton Royal as the third five-star recruit to join the Longhorns' Class of 2025, per 247Sports.
Texas coach Steve Sarkisian is set for a complete overhaul of his offensive line in 2027 after receiving commitments from Camara alongside four-star offensive tackle Brian Swanson and three-star offensive linemen Jackson Cook, Keyon Hemphill-Woods and Lucas Rhoa.
After bringing in top-three classes in 2025 and 2026, Sarkisian's 2027 recruiting class is currently ranked No. 6 in the nation by 247Sports.
