Watch Fans Celebrate Cape Verde's Game-Tying World Cup Goal in Trending Bodega Video
The Cinderella story for Cape Verde at the 2026 FIFA World Cup came to an end on Friday, but not before they provided one of the great moments of the tournament with Sidny Lopes Cabral's game-tying goal in extra time against Argentina.
Cabral's heroic moment captured the attention of a group of fans gathered around a Bodega television, who burst out with joy when the ball found the back of the net.
After Lisandro Martínez put Argentina up 2-1 with a goal in the 92nd minute, Cabral was able to score the equalizer on one of the best shots of the World Cup thus far.
It seemed at that point as if the match was destined to go to penalty kicks, but Diney Borges' own goal in the 111th minute put the White and Sky Blue on top for good.
Despite the loss, this was an incredible World Cup debut for the Cape Verde squad that started with taking Spain to a draw and pushing the defending champs to the limit in extra time.
