Liverpool vs. Bournemouth: Starting XIs, Team News for Premier League Fixture

Liverpool take to the field in front of their adoring Anfield faithful for the first time this season against newly promoted Bournemouth.

Brendan Rodgers’ Reds got off to a perfect start with a late 1-0 win at Stoke City in Week 1. The Cherries will represent an entirely different challenge, and here are the men that the manager thinks are best equipped to do the job, per Liverpool’s official Twitter feed:

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe likely was disappointed to see his side lose against Aston Villa on the opening day. Here is the starting XI selected at Anfield, per the Cherries’ official account:

There’s always something extra special about Anfield for the first home game of the season. And under lights, the Kop will be bristling with anticipation to see some of the club’s new signings in action.

As such, Bournemouth will be the big underdogs for this one. But it’s the kind of occasion Howe will encourage his players to relish during their debut Premier League campaign.
