
England Eliminates DR Congo, Final Match Stats, Highlights & Updated World Cup 2026 Bracket
Harry Kane rescued England from an early exit at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Kane scored a pair of goals in the final 15 minutes to hand England a 2-1 win over DR Congo on Wednesday in Atlanta.

Kane produced the game-winning goal in the 86th minute on a blistering strike from the right side of the penalty area.
The game-winning goal occurred 11 minutes after Kane leveled the scoring with a header from close range.
The goals were the fourth and fifth of the 2026 World Cup for the Bayern Munich striker.
England's breakthrough came after DR Congo preserved a lead for almost 70 minutes.
Brian Cipenga handed DR Congo a surprise lead in the seventh minute. Cipenga found himself in plenty of space on the left side of the box and he finished past Jordan Pickford.
DR Congo produced a valiant defensive effort for most of the match. Goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi made five saves in the losing effort.
The victory moved England on to the round of 16, where it faces another big challenge.
The Three Lions will travel to the Estadio Azteca to play co-host Mexico, who haven't conceded in the tournament, on Sunday night.
