The show came back from commercial showing that Tony D'Angelo was loaded into an ambulance after the fireball.

Saquon Shugars told Dion Lennox that he learned from the first attack by DarkState, refusing to be caught lacking anymore.

He took out Osiris Griffin and Cutler James to make sure he got a fair fight with the "head of the snake", knowing he was the better "wrestler" than Lennox.

Lennox said that DarkState was moving past Shugars while Shugars made clear that DarkState did not exist without him.

Shugars delivered his final bar: "I'm up next. You up never, and it don't get no sweeter than that."

Lennox responded, calling out the hesitations of Shugars that cause DarkState so many problems.

He finished off the segment with his own final line: "Your name is already signed on your death warrant, and, on Sunday, I stamp it."

This was better than most of the build-up to this match, allowing both men to shine on the mic.

While Shugars was better, Lennox proved why he is in his spot as Shugars' foil.

Commentary continued to put over Evolve as a stepping stone spot from the independent scene before arriving in NXT.

Rourke started to show out with his athleticism, kicking around Angels and knocking him around.

Rourke knocked down the Mr. NXT sash, and when Angels tried to pick it back up, Shiloh Hill pulled him under the ring.

Rourke caught Angels with a Spinning Big Boot and Molly Go Round for the victory, retain his gold.

This was a decent match, but Angels was overly protected by Hill's interference, not allowing Rourke to show out.

Throughout the match, NXT showed Naraku arriving in the parking lot, soon met by Tony D'Angelo.

Robert Stone tried to ease tensions, but when Naraku handed D'Angelo the contract, it hid a fireball that blinded the champion.

Wade Barrett joined commentary for the night with Vic Joseph and immediately complimented Tristan Angels with the quote, "I like highly attractive men!".

Joseph also continued to hype Evolve by reminding fans that the winner of this match would defend the championship against Max Abrams on Wednesday.

Rourke made an immediate impression in his NXT debut with a flashy coat and dance for his championship entrance.

Angels took early control of the action but lost his focus when the lights went low and Shiloh Hill's laugh echoed through the arena.

Angels was able to fight back though and lay out Rourke on the outside of the ring, standing above him on the steel steps with his stolen Mr. NXT sash into the first Picture-in-Picture break.

Tony D'Angelo opened the show backstage with Robert Stone, talking about Great American Bash and why Naraku had not signed the contract yet.

The NXT champion saw Men's Evolve champion Aaron Rourke heading to the ring and gave him props for his hard work.
