New Giannis Rumors on Bucks 'Unrealistic' Asking Price in Trade Talks Amid Heat, Celtics Buzz
The Milwaukee Bucks reportedly have an extremely high asking price for star Giannis Antetokounmpo in trade discussions.
NBA insider Jake Fischer reported that Bucks general manager Jon Horst has asked for an "unrealistic" trade package in exchange for Antetokounmpo.
Milwaukee has requested returns that would "leave any club acquiring Antetokounmpo too barren to contend for a championship," per Fischer.
The Boston Celtics and Miami Heat have both been linked to the two-time MVP on the trade market.
According to Sam Amick and Eric Nehm of The Athletic, Miami's offer for Antetokounmpo is likely to include Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., either Pelle Larsson or Kasparas Jakučionis and draft capital.
Still, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reported Friday that the Heat "doesn't want to gut its team and draft capital in a deal."
Meanwhile, Celtics star Jaylen Brown is seemingly a candidate to be part of a potential package for Antetokounmpo.
Per Amick, Boston would prefer to do a one-for-one swap with Milwaukee involving the two stars.
It's understandable that the Celtics and Heat don't want to give up too much for Antetokounmpo, as he'll turn 32 years old next season and is coming off a 2025-26 campaign in which he played in a career-low 36 contests due to calf and knee issues.
The 10-time All-Star would undoubtedly provide a boost to whichever team he lands on if he's able to stay healthy, though.
After all, he still averaged 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.7 blocks per game while shooting 62.4 percent from the field last season.
