New NBA Trade Rumors on Isaiah Stewart Reveal Landing Spots for Pistons Center

Julia StumbaughJun 19, 2026

At least four teams could be interested in trading for Detroit Pistons big man Isaiah Stewart this summer, NBA insider Jake Fischer reported Friday.

Fischer named the Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics, San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat as four teams connected to a potential interest in Stewart.

According to Fischer, the Bucks are "Stewart fans," while the Celtics have "liked Stewart for some time."

"I'm also told that we should list San Antonio and Miami as teams interested in the Pistons' bruising big man," Fischer reported.

Fischer and The Athletic's Sam Amick reported Friday that Stewart is expected to be made available this offseason.

Amick initially reported the Pistons are making Stewart available as part of their search for "additional shooting and playmakers."

Fischer added that Stewart "is not merely available but outright bracing for a trade."

Stewart averaged 10 points, five rebounds and 1.1 assists while serving as a defensive anchor for the Pistons last season.

He is signed through next season at $15 million and holds a $15 million club option for the 2027-28 campaign.

The Celtics could be looking for frontcourt help amid the expected free agency departure of Nikola Vučević, while ESPN's Michael C. Wright recently reported that "multiple big men" have interest in going to the Spurs to play alongside Victor Wembanyama.

One factor in the Stewart trade could be where Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is reportedly being targeted by teams including the Celtics and Miami Heat, ends up this offseason.

NBA insider Marc Stein recently reported the Pistons should be "monitored" as a possible landing spot for the Heat's Tyler Herro as part of the Antetokounmpo trade.

Whether the Pistons ultimately trade Stewart could now play a factor both in that potential multi-team trade and whether the Bucks are looking for a big man this summer.
