He previously played a crucial role in the team's 2022 World Cup triumph, finishing with seven goals and three assists in seven appearances.

While Messi's participation in the 2026 tournament was uncertain throughout the months leading up to the event, the 38-year-old didn't show any signs of slowing down on Tuesday.

With the win, Argentina secured three points and moved into the No. 1 spot in Group J.
