The NBA has announced the referee assignments for Game 5 of the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs.

James Capers will serve as the referee, with Tyler Ford as the umpire and Mitchell Ervin as the alternate.

Who's really to blame for Spurs' collapse?

Wemby Confident in Comeback
Before the start of the Finals, the NBA selected 12 officials who would work the series.
Foster was the senior-most member of the 12-person group, with this year being his 19th time being selected to work the NBA Finals. The 59-year-old began officiating games during the 1994-95 season.
This will be the second game of the series for Foster and Capers together. They previously worked Game 1 with Sean Wright (umpire) and JB DeRosa (alternate).
Ford worked Game 2, with Ervin serving as the alternate for that game.
Saturday could mark the end of the 2025-26 NBA season. The Knicks can close out the series with a win and are coming off a historic 29-point comeback win in Game 4 on Wednesday.
The Spurs will look to rebound from that spectacular collapse by holding serve on their home court and force a Game 6 back in New York on Tuesday.
New York won the first two games of the series in San Antonio. The Knicks have won eight straight road games in this postseason, tied with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2001 for the longest streak in NBA history.
If they get their ninth straight playoff road win on Saturday, the Knicks will celebrate their first championship since the 1972-73 season.
