World Cup 2026 Opening Ceremony Highlights and Twitter Reaction

A star-studded opening ceremony took place inside Sofi Stadium prior to the United States men's national team's 2026 World Cup opener against Paraguay.

Katy Perry headlined the performance. She sang right after the flags of each of the 48 participating nations were presented on the field.

Future, Anitta, LISA, Rema and Tyla were among the artists that were part of the early part of the opening ceremony.

The stands were a bit empty for most of the performances, which drew a direct comparison to Thursday's events at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.

With Friday's opener in Los Angeles, all three co-host nations have now hosted a game at the 2026 World Cup, which will run through the final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium.
