Donovan McNabb Jr. Announces CFB Commitment, Scouting Report on Son of Former Eagles QB

The son of an NFL icon has made his college decision.

Per Brandon Huffman of Rivals, Donovan McNabb Jr. has committed to UNLV. The wide receiver prospect is the son of former NFL quarterback Donovan McNabb, who was a six-time Pro Bowler.

McNabb is entering his senior season at Brophy College Prep in Phoenix and is considered to be a 3-star prospect and the 23rd-ranked player in the state of Arizona by 247Sports' composite rankings.

As a junior, he caught 23 passes for 280 yards and five touchdowns, according to Keegan Pope of Rivals. McNabb held offers from Power 4 schools like Arizona, Iowa, Kansas and Kansas State, but ultimately decided to take his talents to Las Vegas.

The Rebels have emerged as one of the best Group of 5 schools over the last few years. They finished 9-5 in 2023 and 11-3 in 2024 before head coach Barry Odom left to take over as Purdue's head coach.

Former Mississippi State and Florida head coach Dan Mullen took over last season and put together a strong 10-4 campaign to reach the Mountain West Conference title game.

With the College Football Playoff moving to 12 teams in 2024 and potentially expanding further in the coming years, UNLV could be in the CFP mix if it continues to improve.

The elder McNabb played in the NFL from 1999 to 2011, with his most memorable seasons coming in a Philadelphia Eagles uniform. Now, his son is looking to establish himself as a household name.
