World Cup 2026 Group Standings, Schedule After Friday's Results on the Way to KO Bracket
The 2026 FIFA World Cup's second day of action kicked off Friday, as the United States wrapped up a 4-1 win over Paraguay to start Group D's action.
Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina also fought to a 1-1 draw at Toronto's BMO Field to begin Group B play.

United States 4, Paraguay 1
Highlighted by a strong first-half performance, the USMNT won its first game of the group stage.
In the seventh minute of the match, Christian Pulisic sent the ball to Weston McKennie before it bounced off Paraguay defender Damiรกn Bobadilla and ended up in the goal.
It represented the third-fastest goal for the United States in a World Cup contest (h/tย ESPN).
The U.S. squad wasn't finished, as Folarin Balogun scored off a slick feed from Pulisic in the 31st minute.
Balogun picked up his second goal of the night just before the first half came to a close, scoring with a strike into the top corner off his weak foot.
The USMNT held up defensively for the majority of the second half, although Paraguay was eventually able to get on the board after Julio Enciso connected with a streaking Mauricio.
Still, the U.S. squad put the finishing touches on the win with Gio Reyna's goal in stoppage time.
The USMNT secured three points due to the victory, taking an early lead atop the Group D standings.
Canada 1, Bosnia and Herzegovina 1
Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina played to a one-all draw that wasn't short on excitement.
Jovo Lukiฤ scored first off a corner kick in the 21st minute for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Ivan Baลกiฤ delivered the corner to Sead Kolaลกinac, who headed the ball toward Lukiฤ. The forward deflected the ball in with his own header.
Canada broke through in the 78th minute for a crucial goal that ultimately earned led to the men's national team's first-ever World Cup point.
Midfielder Ismaรซl Konรฉ found Promise David, who authored a beautiful touch to Cyle Larin. The substitute did the rest, slotting home the goal to get Canada even.
This match also featured one of the best clearances you'll ever see courtesy of defender Sead Kolaลกinac in the 53rd minute, whose extraordinary effort took away a goal from Richie Laryea.
Canada will now play Qatar in Vancouver on Thursday at 6 p.m. ET. Bosnia and Herzegovina will face Switzerland on Thursday at 3 p.m. in Los Angeles.
