New NBA Trade Rumors on Giannis' Potential Landing Spots, Latest on State of Talks Amid Heat Buzz
The Milwaukee Bucks are reportedly still weighing multiple options regarding a potential trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo despite reports connecting them to the Miami Heat, The Athletic's Sam Amick and Eric Nehm reported Friday.
According to Amick and Nehm, "the Bucks appear to be seeking clarity from several suitors as to what they would actually be willing to offer before making a final decision."

Giannis Deal Expected by Draft
NBA insiders Marc Stein and Jake Fischer reported that as of Tuesday that Heat were felt to be "at the top of Antetokounmpo's current wish list."
Other suitors include the Boston Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves and Orlando Magic, according to Amick and Nehm.
The Bucks are also interested in involving the Portland Trail Blazers "as a third-team as a way for Milwaukee to regain control of some of the picks they lost in the Damian Lillard trade in 2023," Amick and Nehm reported.
Antetokounmpo is currently signed through the 2026-27 season at a cap hit of $58.4 million with a player option for $62.8 million the following season, per Spotrac.
According to Amick and Nehm, the Celtics could be a "serious threat" to beat out the Heat as a trade suitor should Antetokounmpo be willing to sign a max contract in Boston.
Amick and Nehm reported "sources indicate" Antetokounmpo would be willing to sign that extension, and Jaylen Brown "is widely believed to be the most prominent player who would come the Bucks' way in that deal."
The Bucks would then be expected to trade Brown again "for younger players and draft picks," Amick and Nehm reported.
The Celtics also have three tradable first-rounders that can be added to the deal in 2027, 2031 and 2033, per ESPN's Bobby Marks.
That's more draft capital than can be offered by the Magic, who are heading into the offseason with just one moveable first-round pick, per Marks.
The Timberwolves could establish themselves as a contender to acquire Antetokounmpo should they match what Amick and Nehm report is the Bucks' wish list of "Jaden McDaniels, Naz Reid, Terrence Shannon Jr. and their two tradable first-round picks (No. 29 in this year's draft and their 2033 pick)."
Amick and Nehm noted team sources told them the Timberwolves are making both McDaniels and Joan Beringer "off limits," and it is unknown if Antetokounmpo would be willing to sign an extension in Minnesota.
Bucks co-owner Jimmy Haslam said in early May he felt before the 2026 NBA draft would be a "natural time" to decide on a potential trade for Antetokounmpo.
Stein and Fischer reported this week there is "increasing belief" the Bucks want to wait until after the 2026 NBA Finals to complete a trade, but would still want to have the deal done before the draft.
The Finals, if extended by the San Antonio Spurs to Game 7 against the New York Knicks, could run until June 19. The draft is then set to kick off June 23 in Brooklyn.
