NBA L2M Report Reveals If De'Aaron Fox Was Fouled by Anunoby After Viral Knicks-Spurs Finals Photo
To say the last two minutes of Wednesday's Game 5 of the 2026 NBA Finals was hectic would be quite the understatement, and the officials made multiple mistakes near the end of the New York Knicks' dramatic 107-106 victory over the San Antonio Spurs.
But neither of those mistakes involved OG Anunoby fouling De'Aaron Fox on a block in the closing seconds.

Fox Explains Layup Attempt 🤷♂️
The NBA released its Last Two Minute report from Wednesday's game on Thursday and revealed that officials missed a defensive three seconds on Victor Wembanyama and a Josh Hart foul on a critical play that saw the officials say Stephon Castle went out of bounds for a turnover.
Yet it also said "Anunoby makes a legal attempt to block Fox's shot and dislodges the ball from his control before making incidental arm contact" on the play that drew plenty of attention thanks to photographs that made it seem as if there may have been a foul:
No play outside of Anunoby's game-winning tip with two seconds remaining drew as much attention as the one involving Fox.
With San Antonio nursing a one-point lead in the final 15 seconds, Fox broke free for a loose ball and gained a critical possession. Rather than dribbling it out and waiting for the Knicks to foul him for two free throws and the chance to extend the advantage to three, he forced a contested shot against Anunoby.
There was some contact, but the Last Two Minute report said it was not enough to warrant a whistle.
New York grabbed the rebound and ended up scoring what proved to be the winning basket on the ensuing possession, which gave it a commanding 3-1 lead in the series and completed a stunning 29-point comeback that was the largest in NBA Finals history.
It was a clear mistake by Fox and one that may have swung an entire championship. But it wouldn't have mattered as much if the Spurs didn't go ice cold in the second half after pouring in 76 points before intermission.
Part of the late meltdown included Castle stepping out of bounds on a critical possession with just more than a minute remaining and the Knicks leading by one. Had the officials correctly called the foul on Hart, perhaps the Spurs would have taken the lead.
That missed call was quite important considering New York ended up winning the game by a single point.
Of course, both teams' strategy could have been different in that last minute if the Spurs scored on that possession, so it is difficult to say San Antonio would have certainly won the game.
But that's of little consolation to the Western Conference champions, who will now need to figure out a way to win three straight after a stunning collapse.
