EA's College Football 27 Release Date, Cover Stars Unveiled Ahead of Full Reveal for New Video Game
The current king of college football is fittingly a cover star.
Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti, who took the Hoosiers from the losingest program in Division I history to national champions last season, is one of the cover stars on the Deluxe Edition of College Football 27.
On Tuesday, EA Sports announced the entire list of cover stars for the latest edition of its college football video game. Oregon quarterback Dante Moore, Miami wide receiver Malachi Toney and Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy are on the Standard Edition, while Cignetti, Texas linebacker Colin Simmons, USC quarterback Jayden Maiava and Notre Dame cornerback Leonard Moore are included on the Deluxe Edition.
Fans won't have to wait long for the full game reveal either, as it will launch Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on the @EAMaddenNFL YouTube channel prior to the worldwide release on July 9.

While Cignetti is front and center on the Deluxe Edition after lifting the College Football Playoff national championship trophy, EA Sports focused on offensive firepower for its Standard Edition cover.
Toney led the Hurricanes to that national championship game as a freshman with 109 catches for 1,211 yards and 11 total touchdowns and figures to be even better in 2026 with experience under his belt.
"Having this opportunity after only my freshman year means everything to me," he said. "I'm incredibly grateful for the support of the Miami community, and this honor of knowing EA believes in what I'm capable of deepens my drive to show up for the program and the fans who have believed in me from day one."
Anything less than another CFP appearance would be a surprise for Toney and the Hurricanes.
The same can be said of Moore and the Ducks after the signal-caller decided to pass on entering the NFL draft and return to school. Moore is part of a loaded quarterback class that also includes Arch Manning, Maiava, CJ Carr, Darian Mensah, Julian Sayin, LaNorris Sellers and many others.
If he has an excellent year, he could be a candidate to be the No. 1 pick of the 2027 NFL draft. But he will first look to lead Oregon to the CFP for a third straight year.
"Being on the cover of EA SPORTS College Football 27 is an absolute privilege after growing up a fan of the game," Moore said. "Coach Lanning and the Duck were on last year's Deluxe Edition, and now to carry that legacy forward and represent Oregon myself makes me really proud."
As for Lacy, he returned to an Ole Miss team that will be looking to move past Lane Kiffin's departure and challenge for another spot in the CFP after reaching the semifinals last season.
If Ole Miss does just that, the running back will surely be a massive part of it after tallying 1,744 yards and 24 touchdowns from scrimmage during the 2025 campaign. He is one of the most explosive playmakers in the country and is fittingly receiving quite the spotlight.
"I would play this game for hours with my family growing up, so now being on the cover of EA Sports College Football 27 representing Ole Miss feels surreal," Lacy said. "It's truly a once in a lifetime opportunity."
