Wemby, Giannis, Lewis Hamilton, More Sports Stars Make UCL Final Predictions for PSG vs. Arsenal

Several prominent figures in the sports world made their predictions recently for the UEFA Champions League final between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal on Saturday.

NBA stars Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs and Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks were on opposing sides with Wemby picking PSG and Giannis going with Arsenal:

As a Frenchman, Wemby's PSG pick was expected. The same can be said for Giannis and Hamilton regarding their selections since they are both known to be longtime Arsenal supporters.

PSG and Arsenal are two of the biggest and most accomplished clubs in the world, but their success in the UEFA Champions League—and formerly the European Cup—has been limited.

Arsenal reached the UEFA Champions League final only once before, losing to Barcelona in 2006.

PSG have made only two finals, although they did come out on top last year, dominating Inter Milan by a 5-0 score.

Paris Saint-Germain are coming off their fifth consecutive Ligue 1 title in addition to their first UEFA Champions League title, so it comes as little surprise that they are back in the final again.

As for Arsenal, reaching the UCL final is the culmination of a long road to the top of European soccer, as the Gunners finished second in the English Premier League standings three straight seasons before finally breaking through and winning this year for the first time since 2004.

With a victory over PSG, Arsenal will complete the greatest season in club history, but that is far from a guarantee given how battle-tested the Parisians have become at the UCL level.
