Jason Crowe, Tyran Stokes's Top Potential 2027 Landing Spots After 2026 NBA Draft
The first round of the 2026 NBA draft is now over, which means that current college players will start looking to boost their stock for the 2027 draft.
Two incoming freshman that could establish themselves as future top draft picks are forward Tyran Stokes and guard Jason Crowe. Stokes and Crowe are committed to Kansas and Missouri, respectively.
Here are some possible NBA landing spots for each player.
Jason Crowe
1 of 2
Crowe is listed as the No. 2 combo guard in the 2026 recruiting class, per 247Sports' composite rankings.
After he helped lead Team USA to a victory at the 2026 Nike Hoop Summit, NBA teams could target him early in next year's draft.
Sacramento Kings
While Nique Clifford showed promise at times during his rookie season, the Kings' backcourt doesn't have many encouraging long-term answers.
Sacramento could target Crowe to form a duo with center Maxime Raynaud after he earned All-Rookie Second Team honors for his 2025-26 campaign.
Brooklyn Nets
The Nets have a fairly crowded guard rotation with Egor DŃmin and Ben Saraf to go along with Nolan TraorĆ©, but the opportunity to add Crowe may be too good to pass up on if none of their current options are able to put together a breakout 2026-27 season.
After all, Crowe is known for his long-range accuracy and might be able to provide a boost to a Brooklyn squad that ranked No. 30 among all teams with a 34.0 three-point percentage last season.
Memphis Grizzlies
With Ja Morant's long-term future on the Grizzlies reportedly uncertain after the team already traded away Jaren Jackson Jr. and Desmond Bane, there's no guarantee that he's still on their roster by the time the 2027 draft rolls around.
Memphis may be intrigued by the possibility of a young core headlined by Crowe, Cedric Coward and Zach Edey as it looks to eventually return to the Western Conference playoff picture.
Tyran Stokes
2 of 2
Expectations are high for Stokes ahead of his freshman year with the Jayhawks, as he was listed as the No. 1 overall player in the country as part of the 2026 recruiting class (via 247Sports' composite rankings).
It's easy to see several NBA teams showing interest in Stokes, including these three organizations.
Washington Wizards
The Wizards may not be in the mix for Stokes in 2027 with Trae Young and Anthony Davis leading a squad that will also be adding AJ Dybantsa next season.
Still, the NBA's updated lottery odds could allow Washington to jump up the draft order even if they aren't eligible to receive the No. 1 overall pick in back-to-back years.
Stokes' ability to put pressure on the rim would be valuable for a Wizards squad that averaged just 47.7 points in the paint per game last season, ranking No. 23 in the NBA.
Chicago Bulls
After the Bulls sold ahead of the Feb. 5 trade deadline, they might be a lottery team once again in 2027.
Chicago could eventually rise up the Eastern Conference standings led by a young core of Matas Buzelis, Stokes and Caleb Wilson after he was selected with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2026 draft.
New Orleans Pelicans
Pelicans wing Trey Murphy has been involved in trade rumors throughout the past year and the team may target Stokes in the 2027 draft if Murphy experiences a change of scenery.
Stokes' tendency to push the pace should also make him an intriguing fit with New Orleans.
With him possibly joining Zion Williamson and Jeremiah Fears, the Pelicans could become one of the NBA's top transition teams during the 2027-28 season.
