
Jalen Brunson Fuels Knicks' Comeback Win vs. Donovan Mitchell, Harden, Cavs in ECF G1, Wows NBA Fans
Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks completed a late comeback to secure a 115-104 overtime win over Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Tuesday.
The Knicks overcame a 22-point deficit in the fourth quarter before Brunson sent the game to overtime with a floater off the glass as 20 seconds remained in regulation.

New York went on to outscore Cleveland 14-3 in the extra five minutes of action, as Cavs stars Donovan Mitchell and James Harden struggled in overtime.
Brunson finished with a game-high 38 points while shooting 15-of-29 from the field and 1-of-6 from three-point territory. He also recorded six assists, five rebounds and three steals.
Fans and pundits were impressed with Brunson's performance.
Both teams started off slow offensively, as New York jumped out to a 23-16 lead at the end of the first quarter.
The Knicks pushed their advantage to 11 points with just over five minutes left in the second quarter, although the Cavs closed the half on a 21-8 run that was capped off by a triple from Mitchell just before halftime.
Cleveland continued to pick apart New York's defense in the third quarter, scoring 35 points in the period.
The Knicks initially struggled to respond, facing an 83-69 deficit heading into the fourth.
The Cavs didn't show many signs of slowing down after the third quarter, as they extended their lead to 93-71 as just under eight minutes remained in the fourth.
Still, New York closed regulation on a 30-8 run that was highlighted by clutch three-pointers from Mikal Bridges and Landry Shamet.
Brunson eventually tied the score with his short bucket and Cavs guard Sam Merrill was unable to get a game-winning triple to fall.
Cleveland couldn't keep up with New York in overtime, shooting just 1-of-7 from the field as a team while amassing two turnovers compared to one assist.
Mitchell finished with 29 points and six steals while shooting 12-of-23 from the field. Harden scored 15 points and dished out three assists for the Cavs, but shot 5-of-16 on field goals and committed six turnovers.
Meanwhile, Karl-Anthony Towns recorded a double-double during New York's victory. Towns tallied 13 points and 13 rebounds to go along with five assists, shooting 6-of-14 from the field.
The Cavs struggled to take care of the ball throughout the game, ending up with 21 total turnovers.
The Knicks now hold a 1-0 series lead.
