NBA Rumors on Wemby, Spurs in Paris, Manchester as Part of European Games on 2026-27 Season Schedule
The San Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Pelicans are reportedly heading overseas for a two-game matchup next season.
According to NBA reporter Marc Stein, "The NBA's two regular season games in Europe next January will be in Paris and Manchester and The Stein Line has learned that Victor Wembanyama's Antonio Spurs—for obvious reasons—have been selected to headline the trip."
The 22-year-old Wembanyama is French, making his Spurs a logical choice for a Paris contest.

This past season, Berlin and London served as the host cities for the NBA's European games, with the Orlando Magic and Memphis Grizzlies splitting the two-game series. Paris will also be on the menu in 2028 alongside Berlin, and Stein reported that the NBA "continues to target the 2027-28 season as its launch date for a 12-to-16 team NBA Europe circuit that would be separate from [the NBA]."
Previously, Wemby's Spurs faced the Indiana Pacers in Paris in Jan. 2025.
The NBA has continued to mold itself into a global league, with forays into Europe and other markets one of the efforts in that process, similar to the NFL's overseas contests. The result of those initiatives has been an influx of overseas talent, with the top-four finishers in this year's MVP voting all foreign-born players (Canada's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Serbia's Nikola Jokić, Wemby and Slovenia's Luka Dončić).
The past eight MVP awards have been won by foreign-born players.
