New Stephen Curry Contract Rumors Reveal Warriors' Confidence in Extension Amid NBA Offseason
While there's still a bit of uncertainty regarding Stephen Curry's future with the Golden State Warriors, that uncertainty could be put to rest this summer.
The 37-year-old is contract extension-eligible at the end of August, and NBA insider Marc Stein reported that "the Warriors are confident — no matter how their offseason retooling turns out — that they will strike a deal that sets Curry up to retire as a Warrior."
Stein noted that Golden State can offer a two-year deal worth nearly $140 million, which is comparable to the extension Jaylen Brown can receive from the Boston Celtics in July.

Kerr Speaks After New Contract
Curry is currently set to make $62.5 million for the 2026-27 season before becoming an unrestricted free agent. Obviously, Golden State would prefer to keep its franchise's best player around for the end of his career.
While not the MVP-caliber player he once was, Curry is still capable of being the No. 1 option on a championship team. He's coming off a season in which he put up 26.6 points per game, though injuries held him to just 43 games.
Last week, Golden State signed legendary coach Steve Kerr to a new deal that will keep him around for two more years. The Warriors' next task is securing Curry for a few more seasons.
