Julius Randle, Rudy Gobert's Shocking Stats as Wolves Eliminated From Playoffs in G6 Loss vs. Spurs
On a night when the Minnesota Timberwolves needed everyone to step up to avoid elimination, Julius Randle and Rudy Gobert laid an egg in a 139-109 loss to the San Antonio Spurs in Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals.
The T-Wolves duo combined for just three points on 1-of-12 shooting with a plus-minus of minus-44 in the season-ending defeat.

Randle and Gobert were hardly the only Minnesota players to struggle. Gobert actually had the best individual plus-minus of the entire starting five at minus-10.
Anthony Edwards scored 24 points, but he took 26 shots to get there. Naz Reid and Terrence Shannon Jr. are the only Timberwolves players who can say they had at least an average game.
Given how integral Randle and Gobert are to the success of this Timberwolves team, though, their struggles in this game are going to be magnified.
This was the first true scoreless playoff game of Gobert's career. He also had no points in Game 1 of a first-round series for the Utah Jazz against the Los Angeles Clippers in 2017, but he only played 17 seconds due to a knee injury suffered on the first possession of the game.
It's not unheard of for a player to go scoreless in at least 20 minutes on the floor in a playoff game. Mikal Bridges just did in the first round for the New York Knicks in Game 3 against the Atlanta Hawks.
Gobert's situation was unique because he barely had any chances to score with only four field-goal attempts.
Randle went from starting this series on a high to one of the lowest lows of his career. He had 21 points and 10 rebounds in Minnesota's 104-102 comeback victory in Game 1.
The three points for Randle on Friday night marked his lowest scoring output in a game since March 29, 2023, when he also had three points for the Knicks in a 101-92 win over the Miami Heat.
It will be interesting to see if this loss combined with the performances by Randle and Gobert prompt any changes for the T-Wolves. Both players have one more guaranteed year on their current contracts, plus player options for 2027-28.
Having lost in the Western Conference Finals the previous two years and now in the second round, the Timberwolves appear to have hit their ceiling with this nucleus.
