Braden Smith's Stock Rising After NBA Combine, Where Does NCAA Assists King Go in NBA Mock Drafts?
The NBA draft combine in Chicago will officially come to an end on Sunday, but some prospects have already turned heads.
ESPN's Jeremy Woo highlighted Purdue point guard Braden Smith as a player who has improved his stock throughout this past week.
"The NCAA's all-time leader in assists, Smith predictably did a good job of getting teammates involved in Thursday's scrimmage, with a game-high seven dimes to go with nine points and three steals," Woo stated. "While Smith measured as the smallest combine participant at 5-10¼ barefoot and 166 pounds, his instincts as a playmaker and flashes of shot-making stood out, helping his case as a second-round candidate and potential backup point guard in the long run."

Woo predicted in his mock draft that Smith would be selected by the Boston Celtics in the second round with the 40th overall pick. B/R's Jonathan Wasserman predicted that he would land with the Brooklyn Nets at No. 43.
Despite being an undersized point guard, Smith has enough savvy on the court to find ways to impact the game and benefit his team. Woo went on to project him to have a productive NBA career if he lands in the right situation.
"Smith's experience, competitiveness and dependability -- starting all 149 games of his college career at Purdue -- give him a chance to break the mold for a player his size and ultimately stick on a bench at the next level," Woo stated.
