NBA Draft Lottery Prospect on the Rise as Standouts from 2026 Combine Revealed by ESPN Experts
The first day of five-on-five scrimmages at the 2026 NBA scouting combine turned into a good showcase for Baylor standout Cameron Carr, as he looks to solidify his status as a lottery pick in the draft.
In a listing of combine standouts for ESPN.com, Jeremy Woo cited Carr for showing off his "full offensive skill set" early in his scrimmage with 19 points in the first half.
Carr finished the scrimmage with 30 points on 9-of-18 shooting (6-of-12 from three) and seven rebounds.

B/R's Jonathan Wasserman has Carr sneaking into the back end of the lottery to the Miami Heat at No. 13 in his most recent mock draft.
In his report about Carr, Wasserman noted the Baylor star "looks ready for a three-and-D role" in the NBA even though that description might not due to justice his full potential.
"It captures his ignitable shooting and defensive playmaking," Wasserman wrote, "but it perhaps undersells his explosiveness, straight-line driving and powerful finishing."
Other standouts from Wednesday's scrimmages cited by Woo and Jeff Borzello include North Carolina's Matt Able, Cincinnati's Baba Miller and Michigan State's Jeremy Fears Jr.
Wasserman doesn't have anyone from that group projected to go in the first round of his mock.
Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo has expressed optimism that Fears will ultimately return to school for his senior season.
Carr did not follow a traditional trajectory from college to high-level NBA prospect. His college career started at Tennessee when he played 14 games as a freshman due to a thumb injury, then appeared in four games during the 2024-25 season before leaving the program in a decision that caught head coach Rick Barnes by surprise.
After committing to Baylor in January 2025, Carr seemed to figure things out. He averaged 18.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.3 blocks per game in 34 starts for the Bears in 2025-26.
