New 76ers Trade Rumors Reveal Podziemski, DiVincenzo, More Players Targeted at 2026 NBA Deadline

The Philadelphia 76ers reportedly hoped to make a significant trade at this year's deadline.

According to Adam Aaronson of the Philly Voice, the Sixers attempted to trade for Jalen Smith of the Chicago Bulls, Aaron Wiggins of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Tari Eason of the Houston Rockets, Saddiq Bey of the New Orleans Pelicans, Naji Marshall of the Dallas Mavericks, Donte DiVincenzo of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Brandon Podziemski of the Golden State Warriors and Ryan Dunn of the Phoenix Suns.

Ultimately, Philadelphia was unable to land any of those players.

Aaronson noted that the 76ers "liked but did not make a move quickly enough on" Vít Krejčí, who was with the Hawks at the time. Krejčí was later traded to the Portland Trail Blazers.

The only trade Philadelphia ended up making at the deadline was a deal that sent Jared McCain to the Thunder in return for a 2026 first-round pick and three second-round picks.

McCain improved upon joining the Thunder, putting up 10.4 points per game in 30 contests after previously averaging just 6.6 points per game in Philadelphia. The pick the Sixers got in return for McCain will allow them to draft at No. 22 overall in June.

The report from Aaronson comes after the Sixers parted ways with their president of basketball operations, Daryl Morey, after six years in that role. Morey's departure came after Philadelphia's loss to the New York Knicks in four games in the second round of the NBA playoffs.

During his time in Philadelphia, Morey made a handful of notable moves, like trading Ben Simmons to Brooklyn in return for James Harden in 2022 and signing Paul George in 2024.

None of the moves Morey made led to substantial success for the Sixers, though, as they never made it past the second round during his time at the helm.
