Lane Kiffin's Ole Miss Return Trolled by Oxford Police With Meme After College GameDay Announcement
The Oxford Police Department had some fun with the announcement that Lane Kiffin's return to Mississippi as LSU's head coach has been set.
After a start time for the LSU-Ole Miss game on Sept. 19 was confirmed, the Oxford PD account on X posted a GIF featuring Daryl from The Office.
Kickoff for the hotly-anticipated matchup will be 7:30 p.m. ET from Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. ABC will broadcast the game.
The ESPN family of networks is going to get the most out of Kiffin's first season at LSU. It was confirmed on Tuesday that the first episode of College GameDay will broadcast from Baton Rouge for the Clemson-LSU matchup on Sept. 5.
ESPN has not officially announced the Week 3 location for College Gameday, but LSU-Ole Miss would likely rate very high on the list of preferences given the Kiffin storyline.
Kiffin spent six seasons at Ole Miss from 2020 to '25. He led the program to a 55-19 record and an appearance in the College Football Playoff last season, though he left to sign a seven-year, $91 million contract with LSU before coaching in the Playoff.
Pete Golding, who was on Kiffin's staff since 2023, was promoted to head coach and led the Rebels in the playoffs. He got them to the semifinals before losing to Miami.
The matchup with Ole Miss will mark Kiffin's first road game as LSU head coach. The Tigers will open the 2026 season with home games against Clemson and Louisiana Tech.
