A 6'6", 295-pound prospect from St. Peter's Prep in Jersey City, Olubobola was one of the most sought-after recruits in the 2027 class. Per Kyle King of On3.com, he received offers from a whopping 38 Power Four programs before ultimately deciding to spend his college career in South Bend.
"They have a strong culture and coaching staff," Olubobola said of the Fighting Irish before he announced his decision during a ceremony on Tuesday. "They check all the boxes for me. The head coach is a leader of men, the position coach is able to develop offensive linemen to be the best they can be and the strength program is legitimate."
247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivins described Olubobola as "a lean, mean and green offensive tackle with a monster ceiling given the combination of his length and twitch." The youngster earned a selection to the annual Under Armour All-America Game as a junior. He's also a two-sport athlete who competes in the shot put in Track & Field.
Olubobola now headlines a 2027 Notre Dame recruiting class that features multiple players ranked in the top 10 at their respective positions. 247Sports ranks the Fighting Irish's 2027 class fourth in the nation following Olubobola's commitment on Tuesday.
