Updated NBA Playoff Bracket 2026 Picture, Schedule After Knicks Eliminate 76ers With Sweep

Timothy RappMay 10, 2026

The New York Knicks haven't won an NBA title since the 1973 season, leaving their fans in turmoil for 53 years. But after Sunday, they are one step closer to finally putting a close to the fifth-longest drought in the NBA.

The Knicks annihilated the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, 144-114, moving on to the conference finals where they'll face either the top-seeded Detroit Pistons or the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Below, we'll take a look back at the day's scores and top highlights with two contests on the docket.

Scores

Knicks 144, Sixers 114 (Knicks sweep Sixers)

Minnesota Timberwolves 114, San Antonio Spurs 109 (series even 2-2)

A Series-Evening Elbow

Victor Wembanyama was ejected during the second quarter of Sunday's Game 4 matchup between the Spurs and Timberwolves and Minnesota capitalized, evening the series with a 114-109 win.

That play shouldn't overshadow Anthony Edwards' superb night, however, as the superstar wing put up 36 points and six rebounds in the win.

De'Aaron Fox and Dylan Harper chipped in 24 points apiece for the Spurs in a losing effort, and now fans of both organizations await whether the NBA will further punish Wemby for his blatant elbow to Naz Reid's face.

Game 5 will be in San Antonio on Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET (NBC).

Knicks Move On Convincingly

The Knicks pretty convincingly took a 3-0 lead coming into Sunday, and Miles McBride scoring 25 points—and shooting 7-of-9 from three—basically guaranteed that Game 4 would be just as ugly as the rest of the series.

Landry Shamet added four threes off the bench, the Knicks shot an absurd 25-of-44 from beyond the arc as a team (56.8 percent) and the Sixers went out with a whimper, continuing their recent trend of second-round exits.

There isn't much to say about this one—it was a butt-kicking. Even without OG Anunoby, the Knicks played better team basketball (33-24 assist margin), yet again dominated on the boards (47-30), shot lights out and outworked the Sixers on both ends.

Joel Embiid led the Sixers with 24 points, but the fun backcourt of Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe shot a combined 10-of-30 from the field, only managed 25 points and only hit one three on 13 attempts.

So a second straight Eastern Conference Finals it is for the Knicks. Time to see if this franchise can finally end that haunting title drought.
