Victor Wembanyama Dishes On Hakeem Olajuwon Moves He Used in NBA Playoffs Win vs. T-Wolves
San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama enjoyed a dominant 39-point, 15-rebound, five-block performance in a 115-108 road win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday evening to put his team up two games to one in their Western Conference semifinals series.

After the game, Wembanyama revealed that he used some things that Basketball Hall of Famer and two-time NBA champion center Hakeem Olajuwon taught him last summer when the two trained together.
"It's good to be [mentioned] along with the big fellas," Wembanyama said, per ESPN's Michael C. Wright. "I had to resort to some things that Hakeem taught me in the fourth quarter."
Only four players in NBA history—Olajuwon, Shaquille O'Neal, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and now Wembanyama—have amassed at least 35 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks since 1973-74, when blocks became an official NBA statistic, per Wright.
Wembanyama was asked in the postgame press conference what he utilized from Olajuwon's teachings during the game.
"Many things, but especially that spin fadeaway over [Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert]," Wembanyama replied.
That shot gave the Spurs a 106-100 lead with 3:45 left in regulation. Timberwolves big man Naz Reid responded with a three-pointer, but Wembanyama then hit one of his own.
The Spurs led by five or more points for the remainder of the game, and now they are just two wins away from reaching their first Western Conference Finals since 2017.
Game 4 will take place in Minneapolis on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
