New NBA Rumors Reveal Cost of Taylor Jenkins' Bucks Contract to Replace Doc Rivers
The Milwaukee Bucks reportedly paid a hefty price to bring in head coach Taylor Jenkins as the full-time replacement for Doc Rivers at the end of the 2025-26 regular season.
According to Sam Amick of The Athletic, the Bucks handed Jenkins a contract worth over $10 million per year.
"Per league sources, new Bucks coach Taylor Jenkins signed a long-term deal with a salary that is well north of $10 million annually," Amick reported Tuesday. "Jenkins isn't the highest-paid coach in the league, as that honor goes to Golden State's Steve Kerr at $17.5 million annually (for now, as he continues to contemplate whether to return). Miami's Erik Spoelstra is second (approximately $15 million)."

After Rivers stepped down as Milwaukee's head coach on April 12, the team finalized a deal to hire Jenkins 10 days later.
The Bucks finished with a 32-50 record during the 2025-26 season and went 97-103 during Rivers' overall tenure as a member of the organization.
As for Jenkins, he was previously an assistant coach with Milwaukee during the 2018-19 season and also served as head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies from 2019 until he was fired just before the end of the team's 2024-25 campaign.
The Grizzlies owned a 250-214 record under Jenkins, making three playoff appearances and advancing to the 2022 Western Conference semifinals. They also held the No. 5 seed in the West standings at the time he was fired in 2025.
Now, the Bucks are looking for Jenkins to help them return to the postseason after their streak of nine consecutive playoff appearances was snapped this year.
