VJ Edgecombe Mimics Jalen Brunson to NBA Ref After Foul Call in Viral Video from 76ers vs. Knicks

Philadelphia 76ers rookie VJ Edgecombe did his best to stop New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson in Monday's Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, and he even tried to elicit help from the referees at one point.

After Brunson drew a shooting foul in the third quarter of Monday night's game, Edgecombe demonstratively mimicked the star point guard while telling the officials that he's flopping in a viral video:

Unfortunately, Edgecombe's pleas did little to stop Brunson, who dropped 35 points on 12-of-18 shooting to lead the Knicks to a dominant 137-98 victory.

Edgecombe and the Sixers will surely be trying to highlight Brunson's tactics as the series continues, but their Game 1 loss showed that they have bigger problems to worry about. No Philadelphia player reached the 20-point mark, and the team allowed New York to shoot a blistering 63 percent from the field and 51 percent from beyond the arc.

The Sixers will try to fix their defensive woes when they meet the Knicks for Game 2 on Wednesday night.
