LeBron James Hyped by Lakers' Redick After Win vs. Rockets, 'Greatest Career of Any NBA Player'
Having had a first-hand look at LeBron James over the past two seasons, Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick would put him at the top of any ranking of the greatest players in NBA history.
Speaking to reporters after the Lakers eliminated the Houston Rockets in the first round of the playoffs on Friday night, Redick praised James as having had "the greatest career of any NBA player."
The Lakers advanced to the Western Conference semifinals with a 98-78 win over Houston. James led the way with 28 points, eight assists and seven rebounds in 37 minutes.
It marked the 42nd playoff series victory of James' career, extending his NBA record. He also has 188 career postseason wins, more than 22 franchises currently have.
One of the many arguments in favor of James as the greatest player in NBA history is his longevity. He set a in 2025-26 for most seasons played all-time with 23, breaking a tie with Vince Carter.
Despite being the oldest active player in the league this season, James averaged 20.9 points, 7.2 assists and 6.1 rebounds per game in 60 starts. He has averaged at least 20 points, five assists and five rebounds per game every season of his career.
The list of accolades for James could fill out an entire book. He stepped up his game in this series because the Lakers were without Luka Dončić for all six games and Austin Reaves for the first four games due to injuries.
It resulted in James getting another playoff series win and setting up a showdown with the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference semifinals.
