RJ Barrett Reacts to Game-Winning Shot in Raptors' OT Win vs. Cavs, Compares It to Kawhi, Haliburton
RJ Barrett discussed comparisons between his game-winning shot in overtime of the Toronto Raptors' 112-110 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the playoffs on Friday to Kawhi Leonard's memorable last-second bucket in 2019.
"I definitely remember that shot, it was crazy," Barrett told reporters after the game. "Just to be able to now kind of have a shot like that in history, it definitely feels pretty good."

With the Raptors trailing Cleveland 110-109 and time expiring in overtime, Barrett launched a three-pointer that bounced high off the back of the rim before falling in the basket.
In 2019, Leonard gave Toronto a 92-90 win over the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 7 of their second-round series following a jumper that bounced around the rim before dropping in.
Barrett also brought up the similarities between his shot and Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton's game-tying jumper against the New York Knicks in the 2025 Eastern Conference Finals.
"I still knew it was good because it went straight up," Barrett told reporters (19:40 mark). "Like, if it goes straight up you've got a chance. Like that Haliburton shot last year."
Haliburton sent Game 1 of Indiana's Eastern Conference Finals clash with the Knicks to overtime following a shot that also went through the hoop after a high bounce off the back of the rim.
The Pacers later won the contest in overtime.
