Joel Embiid, 76ers Force Game 7 as Fans Call Out Celtics for 2nd-Straight Loss in Playoff Series

The Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics are headed for Game 7 of their first-round playoff series.

Joel Embiid and the 76ers wrapped up a 106-93 win over the Celtics in Game 6 on Thursday night.

Embiid finished with just 19 points on 6-of-18 shooting, but grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out a team-high eight assists.

Meanwhile, fans and pundits called out the Celtics as they suffered their second consecutive loss in the series after initially holding a 3-1 lead over Philadelphia.

Neither team was able to pull ahead early on Thursday, as the score was tied 20-20 near the end of the first quarter before Boston took a three-point lead heading into the second.

The 76ers eventually jumped in front and held a 38-36 edge midway through the second quarter before going on an 11-4 run to gain some more separation.

Philadelphia led 58-49 at halftime.

The 76ers continued to excel in the second half, extending their advantage to 17 points early in the third quarter. Boston struggled offensively throughout the third, scoring a mere 14 points in the period.

Philadelphia went on to lead by as many as 23 points in the fourth quarter, securing the win and avoiding elimination once again.

Tyrese Maxey was key for the 76ers in the victory, recording 30 points and five assists to go along with two steals. Maxey shot 11-of-22 from the field and 3-of-5 from three-point territory.

Paul George also stepped up in the win, scoring 23 points on 8-of-17 shooting.

As for the Celtics, they struggled to find consistency on offense. They shot just 29.3 percent from behind the arc as a team, committing 13 turnovers compared to 18 assists.

Jaylen Brown scored a team-high 18 points and shot 7-of-17 from the field, but it wasn't enough for Boston to close out the series.

Game 7 between the Celtics and 76ers will be on Saturday.
