Christian Watson's $110.5M Packers Contract Revealed in New NFL Rumors, Updated Salary Cap for GB
The Green Bay Packers have extended another one of Jordan Love's favorite targets by signing Christian Watson to a new contract.
Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Watson has agreed to a four-year, $110.5 million extension that includes a $31 million signing bonus.
The Packers entered Thursday with $28.5 million in cap space. Watson was already under contract through 2026, so his new deal ties him to the club through the 2030 season.

Ranking NFL's Best Defenses
Watson's extension comes after the Packers gave Jayden Reed a three-year, $50.25 million deal in April.
Green Bay is reshaping its receiver room with some new faces. Dontayvion Wicks was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in April with one year remaining on his rookie deal. Romeo Doubs left in free agency to sign a four-year, $80 million contract with the New England Patriots.
The loss of Doubs, in particular, left a hole for the Packers because he led the team in receptions and yards last season.
Now, the Packers clearly have designs on their top three wideouts being Watson, Reed and 2025 first-round pick Matthew Golden. They also have arguably the best tight end in the NFL, Tucker Kraft, set to return at some point after tearing his ACL in Week 9 last season.
Watson is the biggest potential difference-maker in that group because of his speed and big-play ability. He has averaged 17.0 yards per catch through his first four seasons, with his two highest single-season totals being in the last two years.
The 27-year-old ranked sixth in yards per route run last season among all wide receivers with at least 100 routes. His total EPA of 57.8 only ranked 38th, but he was the only player in the top 50 with fewer than 250 total routes run (244).
Health is the biggest factor for Watson going forward. He has missed at least two games in each of the past four seasons, including eight in 2023 and seven in 2025.
Those injury issues make this deal a risk for the Packers, but the upside for their offense is enormous if Watson can stay healthy that it's worth taking the risk with their upside being that of a Super Bowl-caliber team.
