Jadarian Price, Seahawks Reportedly Agree to Rookie Contract After 2026 NFL Draft

Scott PolacekMay 29, 2026

Jadarian Price was the final pick of the first round of the 2026 NFL draft, and now he is cashing in on that distinction.

Price and the Seattle Seahawks reportedly agreed to terms on his rookie contract, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. He's expected to sign the deal Friday.

There wasn't much negotiating room for Price considering the NFL rookie scale that is put in place for first-year players is dependent on when they are drafted. Spotrac noted he would receive a full four-year, $16.7 million contract that featured an $8.6 million signing bonus because he was the No. 32 pick.

Seattle received plenty of praise for that pick.

B/R's NFL Scouting Department gave the reigning Super Bowl champions a "B+" grade and highlighted Price's "patience, pacing and vision to consistently find openings and create positive yardage, agility to create in small spaces and bounce laterally, return capabilities."

Running back was an area of need for the Seahawks going into the draft seeing how Kenneth Walker III signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in free agency. All Walker did during the 2025 campaign was run for 1,027 yards during the regular season and then take home SB LX MVP.

He was dominant in the playoffs with 116 rushing yards and three touchdowns against the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round, 111 yards from scrimmage and a score in the NFC Championship Game win over the Los Angeles Rams, and 135 rushing yards in the Super Bowl win over the New England Patriots.

It is unfair to expect Price to put up those kinds of numbers right away, but he will be a key part of the Seahawks' rushing attack with Walker no longer there and Zach Charbonnet recovering from a torn ACL.

The Notre Dame product is also accustomed to sharing the backfield, as he did so with No. 3 overall draft pick Jeremiyah Love during his final collegiate season and still tallied 674 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns from scrimmage.

That wasn't all, as Price was an excellent special teams player who scored touchdowns on three of his 22 kick returns during his Notre Dame career. He also averaged 36.1 yards per return and could factor into Seattle's return game as a rookie.

Expectations will be high for the rookie, and the Seahawks could once again be looking at a Super Bowl run if he lives up to them in 2026.
