49ers' Kyle Shanahan Drops Brutally Honest Quote on Brandon Aiyuk in Video Ahead of WR's Return

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan doesn't care that wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk is meeting with the team at its business offices on Friday.

"No clue, your guess is as good as mine," Shanahan said during his Friday press conference when a reporter asked him what was going to happen.

The reporter then asked Shanahan what he would like to see happen, and the coach replied: "Could care less."

Aiyuk's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told ESPN's Adam Schefter that the team planned to meet with the 49ers at 3 p.m. PT on Friday.

The 49ers placed Aiyuk on the team's reserve/left squad list in Dec. 2025.

In Oct. 2024, the former Arizona State star suffered a torn ACL, MCL and meniscus in his right knee during a game against the Kansas City Chiefs, ending his season.

Aiyuk didn't play next year either, and any chance that he would return ended with with the placement on the reserve/left squad list.

Shanahan told reporters why following the 49ers' 37-24 win over the Tennessee Titans.

"We haven't seen him in forever," Shanahan said. "That's the decision they make. It's been pretty simple for me. I haven't seen him in a month. It hasn't been an issue with our team at all. We've been plugging away. No big deal. It's something we've been used to for a while."
