Lamine Yamal will miss the remainder of Barcelona's season after suffering a hamstring injury while converting a penalty during Wednesday's 1-0 win over Celta Vigo.

Barcelona confirmed the news on Thursday, saying Yamal will "follow a conservative treatment plan" and is set to be available for Spain at the World Cup.

It was a rough day for La Liga's leaders, as defender João Cancelo also left the match due to a muscle injury suffered in the first half.

Yamal, 18, has been fantastic in the 2025-26 season, registering 24 goals and 17 assists across all competitions. He's firmly lived up to his billing as one of the best young players in the world.
