Per a CFP press release, "the updates introduce subtle, yet meaningful enhancements designed to elevate the CFP brand across experiential, digital, broadcast, in-stadium, and out-of-home applications."
To summarize the changes, "championship gold" is now the logo's new color. In addition, a few changes to more closely resemble the CFP National Championship trophy have been added, including thickened logo bracket strokes, rounded ends and a narrowed inset. The football's laces corners were rounded slightly.
"CFP" is a primary reference, to the point where it's been put into the primary logo system. "College Football Playoff" is no longer a feature on the logo.
CFP's primary font is the 'Video' typeface, and six bowl game lock-ups for the New Year's Six contests.
This year's 12-team CFP begins on Dec. 18 with the first round and runs until the championship on Jan. 25, 2027 in Las Vegas.
