Deion Sanders Reveals He Had Procedure for Blood Clots, Says He's Good After Colorado Spring Game
Colorado football coach Deion Sanders underwent another procedure to treat blood clots a few weeks ago, he told reporters Saturday (h/t Sko Buff Sports' Harrison Simeon).
"I'm good," Sanders said about his current status, per Simeon.
Sanders has spent years dealing with circulatory issues, which resulted in the amputation of two of his toes in 2021.

He said last October he had undergone 16 surgeries over the last few years in order to address blood clots.
Sanders said Saturday he is hoping to be more present with Colorado this offseason after missing time in Boulder due to health issues last spring and summer, according to Tyler King of the Denver Gazette.
Sanders' past procedures included emergency surgery in 2023 after blood clots that risked necessitating the amputation of his left foot were discovered in his legs.
His medical team detailed in an October 2025 video posted by Well Off Media his 16th procedure had been designed to "clean his arteries out" in order to reduce pain and blood clots.
Sanders also underwent bladder removal and reconstruction surgery last spring following a bladder cancer diagnosis.
He rejoined Colorado in time for the 2025 season, during which the Buffaloes went 3-9 in Sanders' first season without star players Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter.
The Buffaloes officially kicked off their preparation for the 2026 season on Saturday with the program's annual Black and Gold spring game at Folsom Field.
Sanders, who will turn 59 in August, is heading into his fourth season in Boulder after spending three seasons as head coach at Jackson State.
He will hope bringing in one of the nation's top-25 transfer classes, as ranked by 247Sports, alongside new coordinators in Brennan Marion and Chris Marve and returning quarterback Julian Lewis can help Colorado climb back into bowl game contention this winter.
