Kristaps Porzingis, Warriors Expected to Agree to New Contract in Free Agency by NBA Insider
The marriage between the Golden State Warriors and veteran center Kristaps Porzingis is reportedly expected to last beyond this season.
During an appearance on the Warriors Plus Minus podcast, The Athletic's Marcus Thompson reported that he expects the Warriors to re-sign Porzingis this offseason.
"Can he stay healthy? And I absolutely, as we're sitting here right now, believe that Porzingis and the Warriors will work something out where we will see him again next season in a Warriors jersey," Thompson said (h/t HoopsHype).

Jimmy Part of Warriors' Plans
Porzingis is in the final year of a two-year, $60 million contract extension that he signed in 2023 with the Boston Celtics. After winning an NBA championship with the Celtics in 2024, he was traded this past offseason to the Atlanta Hawks, who shipped him to the Warriors at last month's trade deadline.
Despite being in and out of the lineup due to injuries, Porzingis seems to be enjoying his time in Golden State. He dropped 28 points and eight rebounds in Friday's 131-126 win over the Washington Wizards.
The Warriors haven't been at full strength due to the absences of star guards Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler, who are both sidelined with knee injuries. Having them healthy with Porzingis would give Golden State a better chance of contending for a title next season, so it makes sense that the team would want to retain the 30-year-old big man.
For now, Porzingis will try to lead the Warriors (36-38) to their fourth straight win when they meet the Denver Nuggets (47-28) on Sunday night.
