
LeBron, Bronny James Make History, Excite NBA Fans as Luka Doncic, Lakers Beat Nets
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and his son, Lakers guard Bronny James, made history during the team's 116-99 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Friday night.
Bronny connected on a three-pointer off a pass from LeBron in the second quarter of the game, representing the first father-and-son assist in NBA history.
Luka Dončić also wrapped up an efficient performance in the win, scoring 41 points on 15-of-25 shooting. Dončić grabbed eight rebounds and picked up three steals as well.
Meanwhile, fans were amazed by the accomplishment of the father-son duo.
The Lakers opened the game with a 19-7 lead, but the Nets quickly responded with a 14-5 run to stay within striking distance.
Los Angeles wasn't able to pull away again for the remainder of the first half, as it only led 61-59 at halftime following a buzzer-beating triple from Brooklyn guard Nolan Traoré.
The Nets continued to gain momentum in the third quarter, eventually taking an 81-78 lead with just over three minutes remaining in the period.
The Lakers finally got on track during the fourth quarter, outscoring Brooklyn 31-15 over the final 12 minutes of game time and cruising to the win.
LeBron finished with 14 points, eight assists and six rebounds while shooting 5-of-11 from the field.
As for Bronny, he scored three points in four minutes off the bench.
Austin Reaves stepped up for Los Angeles in the win, scoring 26 points and connecting on four of his seven three-point attempts.
The Lakers were able to emerge victorious due to their offensive efficiency, shooting 54.3 percent from the field and 44.0 percent from behind the arc as a team.
Los Angeles improved to 48-26 with the win, now holding a 1.5-game lead for the No. 3 position in the Western Conference standings.
