Naz Reid Fined $50K By NBA for Criticizing Referees After Ejection in Wolves' Win vs. Rockets
Minnesota Timberwolves center Naz Reid was fined $50,000 by the NBA for "questioning the integrity of game officials" during a recent win over the Houston Rockets, the league announced Friday.
Reid previously received a technical foul and was ejected during Minnesota's 110-108 overtime victory over the Rockets on Wednesday.
The incident occurred after he was called for an offensive foul, which was upheld following a review.
Reid finished the game with 14 points, 13 rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 31 minutes on the floor.
At the time he was ejected, Houston held a 100-95 lead with just over four minutes remaining in overtime.
The Rockets eventually pushed their advantage to 108-95, but Minnesota immediately responded with a 13-0 run to tie the game with just under one minute left.
Timberwolves forward Julius Randle eventually buried a short jumper to give his team the win, completing the largest overtime comeback in NBA history during the play-by-play era (h/t Dave Campbell of the Associated Press).
Reid has now picked up multiple fines as of late, as he was previously fined $35,000 for his role in an altercation during Minnesota's 138-116 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Feb. 9.
Still, the former Sixth Man of the Year winner has continued to operate as a key bench piece for the Timberwolves this season.
Reid is averaging 13.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game while shooting 46.6 percent from the field and 37.2 percent from behind the arc throughout his 2025-26 campaign.
