Thing from Netflix's 'Wednesday' Will Help With 1st Pitch for Yankees-Giants, Photo Teaser Unveiled
Netflix is using its first-ever MLB broadcast for some cross-brand synergy with a special guest from Wednesday helping with the ceremonial first pitch for Wednesday's game between the New York Yankees and San Francisco Giants.
The streamer announced Thing, the severed hand from Wednesday, will "be lending a hand" with the ceremonial pitch for the opening game of the 2026 MLB season,

It's unclear exactly what that means, though the image accompanying the announcement suggests Thing will be delivering the ball to the mound prior to the first pitch.
However, neither the Giants nor MLB has confirmed who will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at Oracle Park, so it's not out of the realm of possibility Thing could be the one to throw the unofficial pitch that kicks off the regular season.
Thing's confirmed appearance is the latest in a long line of notable guests taking part in the festivities. It was previously announced that Baseball Hall of Famer CC Sabathia will be in the broadcast crew as a color commentator, along with Hunter Pence and play-by-play announcer Matt Vasgersian.
Barry Bonds, Albert Pujols and Anthony Rizzo will be on the analyst desk led by host Elle Duncan. Stand-up comedian Bert Kreischer and WWE superstar Jey Uso will be featured as special guests.
Thing has been a featured member of The Addams Family since 1954 when he was introduced in the book Homebodies written by Charles Addams.
In the Netflix series Wednesday, Thing was released by Morticia and Gomez Addams to watch over their daughter, the titular character, after enrolling her in Nevermore Academy.
The Yankees-Giants game from San Francisco will be broadcast on Netflix on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET.
