Spencer Jones' LinkedIn Post Goes Viral After Lakers' Luka, Thunder's SGA Hit Clutch Shots Over Him
Denver Nuggets forward Spencer Jones had the unique experience of having two game-winning shots made over him in one week, and he used the moments to offer advice to other young professionals.
Jones took to LinkedIn to share his perspective on being on the wrong end of clutch shots by Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic and Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

"Everybody wants the moment," he wrote in a post last week, per The Athletic's Amos Morale III. "Nobody talks about being on the wrong side of it. Last week, I had two game-winning shots hit on me. And yeah… that's the part no one signs up for. It comes with the job."
A second-year forward out of Stanford, Jones has appeared in 60 games for the Nuggets this season with 36 starts. His story on LinkedIn went viral with over 2,000 reactions to the post.
"I'd rather be the one in the play than watching it," he wrote. "Because being trusted in those moments means you've earned your way there. And over time, continuing to show up in those situations is what separates you in the end. The outcome doesn't always validate the process in the short term. But the willingness to keep stepping into those moments… that's where growth actually happens. In business, it's no different."
Jones has regularly discussed the challenges he's faced throughout his young career on LinkedIn, so it's clear that he enjoys the outlet. He will remain a key member of Denver's rotation as the team tries to secure a playoff spot in the competitive Western Conference.
"The people who grow the fastest are the ones willing to take the shot, own the outcome, and step back in again," he wrote. "The moment doesn't define you, your response to it does. Sometimes people just hit tough shots. That's life."
