Austin Reaves' Brother Reacts to Lakers Star's Funny Story About How He 'Never Won' Growing Up
Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves has far eclipsed his older brother on a basketball court, but their sibling rivalry was much different when they were growing up.
Following Saturday's 105-104 win over the Orlando Magic, Austin recounted how he "never won anything" against his brother, Spencer.
"He beat the crap out of me in everything," he said.
Spencer couldn't help but relive enjoying those bragging rights:
The paths of the Reaves brothers diverged at some point before they enrolled in college.
Spencer first enrolled at Division II North Greenville before transferring to Central Missouri after his freshman year. Austin spent two years apiece at Wichita State and Oklahoma, earning an All-Big 12 nod as a senior in 2020-21.
The gap has only widened during their pro journeys. Spencer has carved out a career abroad, but Austin emerged as a key player on one of the NBA's most illustrious franchises. He's gonna collect a massive payday this summer when he opts out of his contract as well.
Austin lost the battle against Spencer when they were adolescents. Now, he's unquestionably winning the war.
