Kevin Durant Says Michael Jordan Doesn't Have 'an Equal in Any Sport' in New Video
For Houston Rockets star Kevin Durant, Michael Jordan's preeminence extends beyond an NBA court.
After Durant passed Jordan for fifth on the all-time scoring list, Boardroom released a video of the 16-time All-Star discussing MJ and his overall legacy. At the 10:15 mark, KD argued that "it's bigger than the stats with MJ."
"I don't think he has an equal in any industry," Durant said.

KD was only nine with Jordan wrapped up his career with the Bulls in 1998 and retired for the second time. The NBA as a whole wasn't as widely available as it was now, either. Those living outside of the Chicago market couldn't fire up League Pass and follow the Bulls' dynasty every night.
Still, Durant reflected how he understood the general aura around MJ, and it "meant something to me as a kid" (13:35 mark).
The proliferation of highlights online on top of The Last Dance docuseries have helped even younger generations appreciate what made the Hall of Famer special.
Some might push back on Durant's assertion about Jordan being without a peer in any other sport.
Co-host Rich Kleiman cited the shadow Wayne Gretzky continues to cast over hockey. While there's no universally accepted GOAT in world football, Diego Maradona is a veritable saint in his home country of Argentina and in Naples, Italy, where he was a two-time Serie A champion.
But there's no question Jordan symbolizes greatness in a way few others ever have, and his influence on basketball isn't going wane anytime soon.
