New Stephen Curry Injury Update, Latest Rumors on Warriors Star's Status and Timeline to Return
Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry, who hasn't played since Jan. 30 as he deals with patellofemoral pain syndrome (also known as "runner's knee"), will be re-examined next week, per ESPN's Shams Charania and Anthony Slater.
"The way I would phrase it is we're not bringing him back for the Play-In game. He needs to play some games, and we need to give him a runway if this is going to work," Warriors coach Steve Kerr said when asked if there is still no drop-dead date for Curry to return, via The Athletic's Nick Friedell. "And we are running out of games, that's fair to say."

The Warriors provided an encouraging update on March 21, stating Curry was making "good progress" and had "intensified his individual on-court workouts" with an eye on "being incorporated into live action and team practices in the coming days."
Golden State did note he would undergo another evaluation after his team returned home from a road trip ending March 23 at the Dallas Mavericks.
The 38-year-old Curry has averaged 27.2 points, 4.8 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game this season. He's a four-time NBA champion, two-time NBA MVP and 12-time All-Star who is one of the greatest guards to ever play the game.
Unfortunately, this season has been marred by injuries, and the shorthanded Warriors, who have endured other serious ailments (namely a season-ending torn ACL suffered by star forward Jimmy Butler), have understandably struggled in 2025-26.
The hope, of course, is that Curry returns to full health ASAP and is able to enjoy a sustained stretch on the court as he leads Golden State well into his second NBA decade.
