Tom Brady Says 'My Heart is Hurting' After Loss to Team USA in Fanatics Flag Football Classic
Tom Brady said his "heart is hurting" at the Fanatics Flag Football Classic on Saturday after his team, the Founders, lost their opening game to Team USA flag football, 43-16.
Brady and the Founders looked good early when he found wide receiver Stefon Diggs for a touchdown to open the scoring.
Everything that could go wrong did for the Founders from that point forward. They trailed 24-8 at halftime en route to the 27-point loss. Brady started but eventually ceded signal-calling duties to Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.
This may have been an exhibition tournament, but it's no surprise the supremely competitive Brady was hurting after the game. He was renowned for his intensity during his playing days, which saw him win seven Super Bowls over a 23-year career.
He took the field once more after a three-year absence. The 48-year-old Brady did have that impressive strike to Diggs, but the rest of the matchup didn't go the way he wanted. The Founders later lost to the Warriors 36-28 to go 0-2 in the tournament.
