New NFL Rumors on Seahawks' Plans at RB After Kenneth Walker III's Chiefs Contract in Free Agency
After losing Kenneth Walker III in free agency and Zach Charbonnet's status for the start of the season uncertain as he recovers from a torn ACL, the Seattle Seahawks have a hole at running back right now.
Per ESPN's Brady Henderson, the Seahawks' "likeliest path" to addressing their void in the backfield will be in the draft.
Henderson did note Seattle never made a "serious run" at trying to sign Tyler Allgeier before he signed with the Arizona Cardinals, while another potential target in Chris Rodriguez Jr. wound up getting a two-year deal from the Jacksonville Jaguars.

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap 🐸

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
The Seahawks did sign Emanuel Wilson to a one-year deal after he had a career-high 125 carries for the Green Bay Packers last season. Third-year back George Holani will likely step into the No. 2 role when Charbonnet returns.
Charbonnet tore his ACL in the divisional round win over the San Francisco 49ers. Seahawks general manager John Schneider said last week that Charbonnet's surgery went well, but did not offer any sort of timeline for him to get back on the field.
One thing about the Seahawks during Schneider's tenure is they will draft a running back. They have selected one in eight of the past 10 drafts, with three coming in the first two rounds (Charbonnet in 2023; Walker in 2022; and Rashaad Penny in 2018).
It would seem unlikely the Seahawks take a running back in the first round this year, though not many people would be surprised given their history. B/R's NFL scouting department mocked Missouri EDGE Zion Young to the defending Super Bowl champs in its latest first-round projection.
Notre Dame's Jadarian Price is ranked as the No. 34 prospect on B/R's big board. Arkansas' Mike Washington Jr. and Penn State's Kaytron Allen are also in the second-round mix if the Seahawks want to wait until day two to address the position.
Walker, who signed a three-year, $43 million deal with the Chiefs in free agency, led the Seahawks with 1,027 rushing yards last season. Charbonnet had 730 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns in 16 games.
