Bam Adebayo Reacts to Lakers' Luka Doncic's 60-Point Game vs. Heat, 'Not Easy to Get 80'

Just over one week after his historic 83-point game, Bam Adebayo and the Miami Heat were on the receiving end of a legendary scoring performance when Luka Dončić put up 60 in the Los Angeles Lakers' 134-126 win in South Beach on Thursday night.

Speaking to reporters after the loss, Adebayo explained that even for someone as locked in as Dončić was that it's "not easy to get 80."

While there is some shading of the people who criticized Adebayo's scoring output against the Washington Wizards on March 10, the main point stands because Dončić was on a ridiculous heater from the tip and didn't come all that close to 80.

Dončić got to 60 by shooting 18-of-30 from the field (9-of-17 from three) and 15-of-19 from the free-throw line.

This was Dončić's third career game with at least 60 points. It's his highest-scoring game since putting up a career-high 73 in January 2024 for the Dallas Mavericks in a win over the Atlanta Hawks.

Thursday night also continued the extended heater Dončić has been on to help the Lakers extend their winning streak to eight.

During this eight-game run, Dončić is averaging 40.9 points on 50.2 percent shooting with 8.9 rebounds and 7.4 assists per contest. He has four 40-point outings, including in each of the last two games.

The Lakers (45-25) have moved a season-high 20 games over .500 and extended their lead for the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference to two games.

Dončić and the Lakers will look to keep their positive momentum going on Saturday against the Orlando Magic at Kia Center.
